How To Get Your Hair Ready for Summer

person Posted By: Luana Basso

Summer is almost here, and it's time to get your hair ready for the sun, sea, and sand.

We asked Dr. Hana Patel specialist in skin health, and GP Expert Witness how we can get to summer - and through summer - with healthy hair.

"Hair can be at risk of sun damage, so I would recommend being aware of this and considering hair protection similar to how we protect our skin. UV damage can cause proteins in our hair to cause break down, and lighter tones and shades of hair can cause a colour change."

"Swimming and chlorine can also affect the condition of our hair, leading it to cause dry, brittle, and frizzy hair. Also, if you swim, consider using a swimming cap and rinse your hair well after", Dr. Patel added.

Dr. Patel recommend using a hat or other ways to protect your hair from sun damage and consider hair care products, including leave-in conditioners, sprays, and powders that include SPFs.

To sum up, here are some tips on how to prepare your hair for the upcoming season:

1. Trim your hair: Get a trim to remove any split ends or damage. This will help keep your hair healthy and prevent further breakage.

2. Protect your hair from the sun: Wear a hat or use a hair serum with UV protection to prevent sun damage.

3. Hydrate your hair: Use a hydrating shampoo and conditioner to help your hair retain moisture. You can also apply a leave-in conditioner or hair oil for extra hydration.

The Expert Biotin Restoring & Restructuring Hair Mask-in-Serum combines Biotin, Lemon Extract and Glycolic Acid to help give your hair the transformation you desire. The revolutionary formula works to leave you with thicker, smoother, healthier hair, whilst deeply cleansing and restoring pH levels.

4. Avoid hot tools: Try to limit the use of hot tools, such as hair dryers and straighteners, as they can further damage your hair.

5. Get a hair mask: A hair mask can help nourish and strengthen your hair. Look for ingredients like coconut oil, argan oil, and shea butter for extra hydration.

6. Consider a keratin treatment: A keratin treatment can help smooth frizz and add shine to your hair. It's a great option if you have curly or frizzy hair that tends to get out of control in humid weather.

The Reconstructing Keratin Complex Ultra Shine Hair Cream aims to leave hair smooth and radiant whilst stimulating growth and reducing scalp irritation.

By following these tips, you can get your hair ready for summer and keep it looking healthy and beautiful all season long. If you are curious to see how to prep the skin for you big day, read our post.
